When eliciting requirements, various techniques are used to elicit, detail and refine requirements from stakeholders and other sources. Through documentation, elicited requirements are adequately described. Different techniques can be used to document requirements in natural language or in models. The recorded requirements must be checked and agreed at an early stage to ensure that they meet all the required quality criteria.
The requirements for a product or system increase with its complexity. Requirements Engineering accompanies all other activities and includes all measures necessary to structure requirements, to prepare them for different roles and to change and implement them consistently.
