Project Identity

Use Case

Development of a Project Identity

Visual Support for Project Communication

From Color Design to the Complete Communication Set

The importance of communication in the course of a project is often underestimated. Above all, recognition value and emotional impact are essential for projects that affect all employees. Only when they identify with the project will they integrate it into their day-to-day work – and also become ambassadors for the project in their corporate environment.

Using our tried-and-tested approach, we collaboratively developed a new project identity for our client.

Starting with a joint creative workshop through to the completion of the visual project world – every voice and idea is heard by us and combined into a coherent overall picture.

The development of a new project identity can also serve as a communicative measure in the course of a strategic realignment. For example, we provided communication support for the restructuring of a company's data management system by developing an individual project identity with a key visual, a visual ambassador and a comprehensive communication toolkit for the newly introduced tool.

Participant's comment: "The Key Visual turned out great. Everyone who sees it knows at first glance who we are and what project we represent."
Workshop

Creative Workshop

As a first step, we organized a one-day creative workshop. In addition to department and group managers, all team members took part. The aim of the workshop was to develop at least two different mood boards that outlined the look and feel of the new project identity. We divided the participants into different groups. We used creative exercises to help them incorporate their ideas into the concept process. From an approximate color scheme to the symbolism and design style, the mood boards were created step by step. The final voting of the mood boards formed the basis for the briefing of our graphic designer, who then creatively implemented the workshop results.

Presentation

Slide Master

We created an official slide master for PowerPoint with the new key visual, the wordmark logo and other recurring design elements. This is used consistently by all members of the project team for all presentations.

Graphic design

Graphics and Charts

To match the new look and feel, we created new graphics and charts and revised existing ones. To visualize the new project identity in online meetings, we created a custom background for MS Teams for the project team.

Giveaways

We designed and produced lanyards, ID card inserts, a quartet game, T-shirts, bags and laptop stickers in the new design for all project ambassadors.

Eye

Key Visual and Logo

One product that we developed on the basis of the creative workshop was a key visual. It is used, for example, as a cover image for presentations or on the intranet. As an abstraction of the key visual, we also developed a logo that we used as branding for giveaways, for example. The reorientation also involved a name change for the project. For this purpose, we created a wordmark logo that was used either on its own or in combination with the graphic logo.

Photography

Film and WBTs

We took the name change as an opportunity to create an explanatory video in animated comic style. A superhero character represented the new project identity and explained the background, goals and core elements of the realignment in an entertaining way. We created a web-based training (WBT) to communicate the changed working methods in the course of the new project orientation to all those involved.

Intranet

Online Communication

In order to make the new project identity tangible in online communication, we gave the intranet and SharePoint a complete redesign with a new look and feel, supplemented with animated GIFs. We also applied the new design to digital media such as mailings and newsletters.
