Plan a Project Creatively, Implement it Together in an Agile Way and Implement it Sustainably

Virtual vehicle is the name for a central data kiosk where all relevant vehicle data from the company is brought together and made available virtually. This data, which is essential for overall vehicle development, is generated in a wide variety of departments and documented in a complex manner. For an efficient vehicle development process, it is necessary for employees throughout the company to be able to access this data quickly and easily.

In practice, however, it has been shown that the information is widely dispersed and therefore difficult to find. To remedy this shortcoming, a project was commissioned with the aim of creating a digital navigation system for a central knowledge database for the virtual vehicle based on a Sharepoint online site.

Our client commissioned us with the project management as well as the technical and content-related implementation of the Sharepoint online site.

Project Kick Off Workshop

We kicked off the project with a one-day workshop with all project participants, which we planned and moderated for our clients. Using creative methods, we first identified the project's goals, resources, time frame and stakeholders. We clarified requirements and designed tailor-made solutions for project implementation that ideally met the client's individual wishes.

Implementation roadmap and action plan

Instead of the usual detailed project plan with milestones and tasks, we used more creative methods: We set out the most important stages in the project in a clear implementation roadmap with start and arrival times. We replaced the classic to-do list with an agile action plan in which those responsible for implementation structured themselves in a self-organized manner.

Agile Project Management

Our 'Weeklys' formed the core of our agile project support. In addition to regular updates on the progress of the project, we reviewed the requirements on a weekly basis, flexibly adapted the activities, identified problems and immediately generated the appropriate solutions.

Technical Implementation in Tools

In this project, we as the iCS team used our expertise to take on a dual role as project manager and project team member. As part of the project team, we were responsible for the design and technical implementation of the navigation system based on a Sharepoint online site. At the end of the project, we trained and empowered the project client accordingly so that they can now also find their way around the Sharepoint Online environment.
