Vibration Measurement

Vibration Measurements and Modal Analyses to Determine Dynamic Effects

Hardly any mechanical load is truly static. As a rule, there is also a dynamic component that can lead to vibration. These vibrations can lead to material stresses and undesirable acoustics. Vibration measurement using FEM analyses load peaks and noise during the development process in order to eliminate critical effects on performance and safety at an early stage.

If the excitation frequency coincides with the natural frequency of the structure, the vibration is exaggerated. The resulting deflections and stresses lead to component fatigue. These so-called resonance effects can result in complete mechanical failure.

Vibration Measurement with Modal Analysis and Response Analysis

In order to optimise product quality right from the start, vibration measurements are carried out by investigating harmonic effects and eliminating hazards for the component. The operational and fatigue strength of a structure depends largely on the dynamic analysis in the time and frequency range.

Modal analysis can be used to determine the natural frequencies, damping and natural vibration modes of a structure. At the same time, dynamic reactions to potential excitation frequencies are determined and evaluated. The simulation uses the same model as in the classic strength analysis, so that the costs for this are relatively low.

Portfolio in Vibration Measurement

  • Determination of stresses and deformations due to vibrations
  • Spectral analyses - simulation of a vibrating table set
  • Dynamic response analysis in time and frequency domain
  • Simulation of the fatigue strength (service life analyses)
  • Verification of the structure under transport and earthquake loads
  • Definition of the required damping characteristics
  • Stiffness optimisation to avoid resonance effects
  • Damage analysis to find the cause
