INVENIO VIRTUAL TECHNOLOGIES AND CONTACT SOFTWARE: PLM AND DMU SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATED

invenio Virtual Technologies (VT) specializes in digital mock-ups (DMU), geometry analysis, and the automation of 3D processes in digital product development. With its modular software platform, VT-DMU, invenio VT helps companies make efficient use of geometry data, accelerate development processes, and design end-to-end digital workflows.

For more than 25 years, invenio VT has been developing software solutions for the analysis, calculation, and simulation of product data. The applications are used across various industries and help companies validate complex product structures early on, avoid errors, and reduce development costs.

A Strong Partnership for End-to-End Development Processes

invenio VT has established a technology partnership with PLM provider CONTACT Software based on openness, integration, and end-to-end digital processes. The goal of this collaboration is to seamlessly integrate DMU, 3D, and PLM workflows and make geometry data available throughout the entire product development process without any media breaks.

CONTACT Software is one of the leading providers of open PLM solutions. With CONTACT Elements, the company offers a platform that connects product data, processes, and collaboration across a product’s entire lifecycle. By integrating VT technologies into CONTACT Elements, users gain access to powerful DMU capabilities directly within their familiar PLM environment.

CONTACT Elements and VT-DMU: High-End DMU directly within the PLM system

The partnership is based on the open architecture of both systems. Through standardized interfaces, selected VT-DMU modules are integrated directly into CONTACT Elements and are immediately available to users within the product development process.

The following workflows are already available as DMU functions:

  • Differential Analysis
Automatic comparison of different geometric states to quickly identify geometric differences
  • Data Reduction
Intelligent processing of large CAD datasets for significantly more efficient use in downstream processes
  • Collision Analysis
Automated detection of collisions and critical distances
  • Image Generation
Automatic creation of views and visualisations for documentation, communication and approval processes

Open systems, flexible integration

VT technology integrates seamlessly into existing system landscapes and specifically enhances them with specialised functions for digital product development. Furthermore, the modular structure of VT-DMU allows for the flexible implementation of individual features. Companies can integrate precisely the building blocks they need for their processes and connect these to existing PLM, CAD and data management systems.

This creates end-to-end digital processes without the need to replace established IT structures or systems. At the same time, product data remains consistently available across all systems and can be used for analysis, automation and other digital use cases.
