Our easy-to-use library provides an effective solution for managing Polarion® configurations. When using widgets and servlets, one often wants to parameterise them for a specific Polarion® project. Currently, the only way to do this is to use the 'polarion.properties' file on the server. However, the following problems occur:
The parameters managed in 'polarion.properties' apply globally to all projects on the server. Different configurations for different Polarion® projects are not possible. In addition, changes cannot be made from within Polarion®, but require server access, and applying changes requires a restart of Polarion®, which is impractical in practice.
Polarion® allows project-specific 'Configuration Properties' while the 'Default Repository' does the same globally for all projects. However, until now it has not been possible to access the configuration properties of projects via a specific interface.
To close this gap, invenio has developed an intuitive JAVA library. It enables direct access to the Polarion 'Configuration Properties' for own Java applications such as Polarion® servlets.
The value of the configuration property is retrieved with the method 'getPropertyValue (String projectPath, String propertyName)'. The return object is an instance of the class 'PropertyElement', which contains a status and the 'property value':
public class PropertyElement {
public int status = 0;
public String value = "", }
