The corporate carbon footprint is an important building block for the development of an advanced climate protection strategy. By analysing the carbon footprint, it is possible to identify reduction potential and levers, develop appropriate measures and define climate protection targets.
In line with the German and European goal of climate neutrality by 2045, invenio is also pursuing strategies to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In order to implement climate protection measures, we examine many different areas of our operating sites in Germany every year.
In Germany, our locations have been approximately 50% climate-neutral in terms of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions since January 2020. From 2030, all invenio locations throughout Germany will also be climate-neutral through offsetting (Scope 1 and 2). invenio regularly evaluates the reduction potential with the ambitious aim of also becoming CO₂-neutral at the production and assembly locations with Scope 3 emissions by 2038 if possible.
Energy and greenhouse gas balancing and climate protection monitoring as well as the definition of corresponding indicators are key instruments for determining one's ownCO2 footprint in order to regulate and control measures. Our primary goal is to act responsibly, organise regulatory measures and operate successfully with these extensive influencing factors.
